Cutting UK Tariffs to Ease Cost of Living Could Leave It ‘Nude’ in Trade Talks

Boris Johnson’s Downing Street has ordered the Department for International Trade to assess the impact of cutting British import taxes on goods it doesn’t produce at home. Harry Broadman comments that cutting tariffs will lower consumer costs for specific products and that it is an “illusion” to argue the move would kill British leverage in trade talks.
