BRG Appoints Audit Expert as Managing Director
BRG today announces the appointment of Philip Crooks as a Managing Director based in London.
Crooks holds forty years of audit experience across a range of sectors and regions, having worked with businesses within the UK and those operating around the world, including the services sector, construction, manufacturing and technology. Before joining BRG, Crooks was a partner at an international accounting firm, where he gained wide-ranging experience in audit investigations and accounting disputes as head of the UK audit practice and a forensic specialist.
During his extensive career, Crooks has led investigations into allegations of accounting misstatements in connection with £5 billion civil litigation and regulatory investigations in the UK and US; acted as a testifying expert on the tracing of monies in a £250 million fraud; and challenged the support for a warranty claim arising from an accounting “black hole”.
Commenting on the announcement, Daniel Ryan, head of BRG’s London office, said: “Phillip will be a valuable addition to our growing team of experts in London. His significant track record in accounting, audit and negligence-related investigations will further strengthen BRG’s regional offering and advance our international disputes expertise”.
Commenting on his appointment, Crooks said: “I am excited to join BRG’s team of industry experts at a time when particular attention is being paid to the quality of audit work. I look forward to helping the firm further build upon the success of its investigations and disputes teams”.
