World LNG Virtual Summit and Awards 2020

Christopher Goncalves took part in a panel on “Building Demand in New Markets: Unlocking the Potential for Recovery” on December 2. Topics included business models needed to underpin new investments; drivers for developing countries to shift from coal to gas; and ways natural gas and renewable energy compete and/or complement one another in the post-pandemic economy.

After the panel, Mr. Goncalves and Tom Choi led a session on “Decarbonisation Downside: Using LNG Horizon to Analyse Energy Transition.”

The virtual summit provided an opportunity for the global liquefied natural gas (LNG) and gas community to come together and set the agenda for the year ahead, with a focus on LNG demand recovery and the role of gas in the energy transition.
