False Claims Act Case Regarding Software Services

Stefan Boedeker was retained by defense counsel in a case filed under the False Claims Act alleging that a large provider of software services “perpetrated a scheme” to charge the federal government prices far exceeding those offered to its commercial customers, in clear violation of the General Services Administration–negotiated Multiple Award Schedule contract. Throughout this multiyear case, Mr. Boedeker’s team was headed by Okem Nwogu and supported by Alexandra Torres. After the trial, the judge’s final ruling strongly rejected the core of the plaintiff’s case, as can be seen by the judgment of only $1.6 million against a claim of more than $1.2 billion.
