Tarek El-Maissi brings more than 30 years of capital construction experience to the BRG team. He began his career as a Project Engineer, involved in building the royal palace for the King of Saudi Arabia and 85 governmental buildings.
Mr. El-Maissi’s extensive experience includes preconstruction, design–build, business development, contract negotiations, budgeting and project controls, construction engineering, planning and scheduling, and claims and disputes, as well as implementing and maintaining OSHA safety requirements. His projects have included mixed-use, healthcare, hospitality, education, commercial, and industrial.
Mr. El-Maissi has experience in multiple project delivery methods, including traditional delivery, design–build, modified design–build, CM at Risk, and Design–Assist. His experience provides the knowledge and knowhow to build RFP documents for these delivery methods, then manage the team through the construction phase, maintaining continuity throughout a project’s duration.
Mr. El-Maissi’s project management experience includes projects in the public sector for institutions of higher education, K12–school districts, and infrastructure, as well as municipalities. Projects have included the former Home Depot Center on the campus of California State University Dominguez Hills, for which he received several awards.
Mr. El-Maissi’s role on major capital construction projects has included managing the planning and programming phase, conceptual budgeting, preliminary scheduling, developing bid packages and all RFP documents, managing the prequalification/bid phase, and managing the construction phase through occupancy.
