Rebecca A. Altman

Rebecca Altman has over 16 years of experience in healthcare management, corporate management, and business development. She began her career as an R.N. in the intensive care unit at Lancaster General Hospital in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, working as a nursing supervisor at the Women’s and Babies Hospital. While at the hospital, she assisted with grant opportunities for lower-income women and fundraisers for women’s health issues. She later accepted a position with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Inc. (FINRA) in Washington, DC, as a management analyst for the Office of the CEO.

Ms. Altman was later a director in Johns Hopkins Medicine International and recouped aging accounts receivables through process improvements. She has extensive business development experience; she negotiated a two-year, $2 million contract between Johns Hopkins Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality and a Middle Eastern independent, public joint stock company for a new patient safety program. She also led teams in Baltimore and Kuwait for a five-year, multimillion-dollar contract while working with faculty in Baltimore to provide contract deliverables to the Kuwait government. While at Johns Hopkins Medicine International, she secured a 10-year contract in India assisting with clinical knowledge of establishing a chain of primary care clinics in India.

As a senior director with a healthcare consulting company based in Columbia, Maryland, Ms. Altman oversaw projects for U.S. health systems implementing accountable care organizations. She also oversaw projects in Singapore that targeted acute care settings and improving best practices within services lines, and worked to reduce clinical variation in orthopedics and cardiology.

Ms. Altman has coauthored, and is an adjunct professor at George Washington University for, an online health policy class for executive healthcare MBAs. Ms. Altman brings a unique perspective to her consulting work, understanding the needs and challenges clients face and working to find solutions that achieve client goals.
