Mitch Wilk is former commissioner and president of the California Public Utilities Commission, a position he assumed following his service as legislative secretary and then deputy chief of staff to former Governor George Deukmejian.

Mr. Wilk subsequently formed Wilk & Associates, Inc., a consultancy specializing in strategic advice to chief executive officers and other senior executives of regulated industries with a focus on independent, sounding-board guidance regarding industry and regulatory change and opportunities, mergers and acquisitions, legislation, and media relations. The nationwide clients of Wilk & Associates included major telecommunications and energy utilities, government agencies, and prominent law firms.

Mr. Wilk is a military veteran and earned BS and MBA degrees in finance from American University in Washington, DC, where he has also worked as a member of the Congressional staff. He is a frequent commentator and speaker on regulatory and public affairs issues.
