Jonathan Humphrey is the head of Disputes and International Arbitration in Australia and Southeast Asia for Berkeley Research Group and has over 17 years of experience advising clients as an accounting and finance expert on contentious matters and in an advisory capacity. His experience includes the quantification of lost profits arising from breach of contracts and warranties, valuations resulting from expropriation and shareholder disputes and quantification of damages in respect of professional negligence, insurance claims and post-acquisition disputes. He has worked across sectors including oil and gas, construction, IT and telecoms, financial services and manufacturing; and in jurisdictions including the United Kingdom, Continental Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

Mr. Humphrey is appointed regularly as an expert in contentious matters and has experience providing oral evidence in the United Kingdom, Continental Europe and the Middle East. He has worked in multiple forums, including international arbitration under UNCITRAL, ICC, LCIA, DIAC and HKIAC rules, UK High Court litigation and mediation. In addition to his contentious experience, Mr. Humphrey leads fraud, forensic, intellectual property and regulatory investigations, both in the United Kingdom and around the world.

Mr. Humphrey has been recognised by Who’s Who Legal as a leading Arbitration expert witness in 2014 and 2015 and a leading Insurance & Reinsurance expert in 2015. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and has a degree in economics from the University of Bristol.
