Overview

Bryan Cote has more than 20 years of experience as a widely published healthcare researcher, writer, and advisor.

Mr. Cote has a ‘subscriber research panel’—first developed in 2000—that has currently surpassed more than 100,000 clinical, payer, and healthcare business leaders. He built the research panel advising thousands of health plans, physicians, hospitals, and pharmaceutical companies with his Medicare & Reimbursement Advisor Weekly journal (published from 2003-09), conducting original research for Pfizer’s Drug Access Restrictions Team (2007-10)—ultimately published multiple times in the American Journal of Managed Care—leading one of the nation’s first studies on hospital readmission causes, published in Case Management Peer Review (2010), and serving as lead business writer and payer researcher for Oncology Business Review (2004-11).

From 2007 to 2009, Mr. Cote used his payer and provider research panel to conduct surveys as an independent consultant for the Marwood Group, a firm he later joined in late 2009 to create a survey product. Between 2009 and 2014, he used components of his subscriber panel and his long-term relationships to personally conduct more than 250 primary-market research surveys with health plans as well as hundreds more to hospitals, physicians, and other providers and employers. These surveys were largely used to advise private equity firms and healthcare companies on reimbursement and strategy. From 2001 to 2009, in addition to being an independent researcher, Mr. Cote primarily served as executive editor at HCPro.

Mr. Cote began his career working in community relations for a Connecticut hospital and nursing home and in 2013 co-founded a socio-behavioral health accountable care organization (ACO) for migrant refugee adolescents in Connecticut. He writes the popular Behavioral Health Hour and ManagedCare2025, an online resource for health plans, physicians, hospitals, schools, and consumers.
