Leading strategic advisory and expert consulting firm Berkeley Research Group announced today that Mustafa Hadi has joined the firm to lead its International Arbitration practice in Hong Kong. With this addition, BRG launches its first office in Asia, specialising in providing financial and economic expert services in international arbitration and litigation.
"We are experiencing increasing demand from our clients for specialised economic, financial, accounting and sector expertise in this region, as the issues in dispute continue to increase in complexity", said BRG Chairman and Principal Executive Officer David J. Teece. "With a presence in Hong Kong, we will provide access to BRG's extensive network of leading experts in industries ranging from energy, natural resources and infrastructure to manufacturing, trade and financial services, combined with the ability to work closely on the ground with our clients in Asia, and local knowledge and language skills".
Hadi specialises in the valuation of businesses, shares and intangible assets, and in the quantification of complex damages, such as those arising from contractual, shareholder, joint venture, post-acquisition and intellectual property disputes. He has been instructed as an expert witness in international arbitrations under ICC and UNCITRAL rules, and in the courts of Hong Kong and the Bahamas, and has given oral testimony before both court and arbitral tribunals. His experience also includes arbitrations at the ICC International Court of Arbitration, Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre and Dubai International Arbitration Centre; and matters in various courts and tribunals in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and Bermuda.
"BRG is assembling the world's top experts to address the complex problems our clients face. Mustafa Hadi is a strategic addition to this team and a key component in the growth of our Asian practice", said Managing Director Daniel Ryan, who is co-head of BRG's London office. "His expertise in providing financial, economic and strategic advice will be a tremendous asset to the firm".
Hadi holds an M.A. in physics from Cambridge University, is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and is a member of the Academy of Experts.
